A mechanical delivery cart reported missing from the Central Postal Office has been found three districts away. All twelve parcels were still inside. Engineers believe a damaged route tag caused the cart to follow an outdated sequence of street markers.
Its journey included two unnecessary bridges, one complete circuit of a fountain and a short visit to a lane that has not accepted postal deliveries in nine years. One witness says the cart stopped politely for a duck. The duck did not cross.
The cart waited anyway. Postal workers eventually recovered it beside a public bench. Officials have asked residents not to “improve” municipal route markers with chalk arrows. Three chalk arrows were removed this morning. One pointed directly into a bakery.
