A workshop tool chest reported missing yesterday has been recovered after travelling through three districts on a mechanical delivery cart. The chest was left beside a parcel collection point. Postal workers assumed it belonged to the cart crew.
The cart assumed nothing because it is a cart. It then carried the chest through Copper Market, across the Old Pump Walkway and past the Central Postal Office. A witness says the chest had “a lovely afternoon.” All tools remained inside.
The owner recognised it when the cart returned for evening inspection. The Postal Service has reminded residents not to leave unlabelled boxes beside parcel points. The owner has now attached a large label: “TOOLS. NOT POST.” A postal clerk has added a smaller label underneath: “THANK YOU.”
