Boiler Street Announces Steam-Bun Contest; Structural Integrity Now a Judging Category

Boiler Street bakers have announced a public steam-bun contest this Saturday. Entries will be judged on taste, appearance and structural integrity. The third category was added after last year’s largest bun collapsed on the way to the judging table and buried two smaller buns. Nobody was injured.

One bun was never recovered. Competitors may use ordinary steamers and approved cooking equipment. Experimental pressure vessels are forbidden. This rule specifically includes anything with more than three gauges. The winner will receive a brass mixing bowl and the title BEST STEAM BUN IN VENTORN.

One baker has already objected that the title should be BEST LEGALLY ENTERED STEAM BUN IN VENTORN. The committee has ignored him. The Gazette plans to attend in the interest of public information and free samples.
