A teaspoon matching the description of the object mentioned in September’s maintenance summary was seen this morning on a second-floor window ledge in Lantern Court. The spoon was visible for approximately six minutes before disappearing. The flat owner says it does not belong to the household and denies placing it there for attention.
Two neighbours offered conflicting accounts of how the spoon arrived. One claims a pigeon dropped something shiny shortly before eight. The other says the ledge was empty when the pigeon left and considers this evidence against the bird. A child suggested the spoon may simply be “doing October.” No official definition of this activity exists.
City Engineering has declined to open a dedicated cutlery investigation and has instead asked residents to report the spoon only if it interferes with public equipment. The Gazette supports this measured position while also noting that the spoon has now been reported in more districts than several of our subscribers.
