A safety inspection encountered a familiar conflict between designated equipment and convenient storage.

Workshop Alley Tests New Fire Buckets; One Bucket Already Contains Potatoes

The Fire Watch conducted a routine check of Workshop Alley water buckets today. Eleven were empty, clean and ready for use. The twelfth contained six potatoes.

The workshop owner explained that the bucket was temporary vegetable storage and that another empty bucket stood nearby. Inspectors explained that emergency equipment must remain immediately available, a principle already familiar to anyone following the city’s cabinet notices. The potatoes were moved to a crate.

All twelve buckets now meet requirements. The workshop owner has labelled the vegetable crate POTATOES with unusual enthusiasm. Inspectors have confirmed this is acceptable and, for once, completely accurate.
