Workshop Inventor Demonstrates Self-Leveling Tray; Tea Remains Level, Biscuits Do Not

A Workshop Alley inventor demonstrated a small self-leveling serving tray today. A weighted joint beneath the tray kept a cup of tea remarkably level while the handle was tilted.

The biscuits beside the cup were not secured. During the third demonstration they slid neatly across the tray and into the inventor’s apron pocket. The audience applauded harder than the inventor considered appropriate.

A shallow rim will be added before further testing. The tea system worked as intended. The biscuit system, technically, also behaved according to gravity.
